Your health data

What goyo does with your health information, and your rights over it.

The hospital's copy of your records is protected by a health privacy law called HIPAA. The copy you add here is not. goyo follows consumer health data laws, such as those in Washington and Nevada. This is our policy under those laws.

What we hold. Only what you put here: papers, notes you type, the choices you make, and the fact that you have an account. On a site like this one, having an account can say something about your health, so we treat it that way.

Where it comes from. It comes from you: we do not buy health information, and we do not get it from data brokers, hospitals or insurers.

What we do with it. We show it back to you in order and use it to write the letters you ask for. We do not sell it. If that ever changed, the law says we must first ask you for your signed permission.

No ads, no tracking. There is no advertising on this site. We do not track where you are, and we do not set up a virtual fence around a hospital or clinic.

Your rights. Write to privacy@goyo.health or use the contact form, and you can ask:

We answer within 45 days. If a request is hard, we may take 45 more days and we will tell you why. We may need to check that the request is about your own account. If we say no, we tell you why. You can appeal by replying to us, and we answer an appeal within 45 days. If you are still not satisfied, you can complain to your state attorney general.

If it ever gets out. If health information here is taken or shared without permission, we will tell the people affected and the regulators, as the law requires. We will say what happened, what was involved and what you can do.

Children. Accounts are for adults, and a parent or guardian can keep a child's papers in their own account, as they would for any family member they are helping. We do not knowingly let anyone under 18 open an account.
